Dedicated Server FAQs

What is the turnaround time for new server orders?

New servers are processed immediately after payment is confirmed, generally Typical server setup times are from few hours upto 24-48 hours depending on the amount of orders in queue. All servers are set up individually, tested by our system administrators, and checked for all service functionality prior to sending your welcome letter with server access information.

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?

All servers are carried on a month to month contract (unless if a longer contract period like 3 month, 6 Months or 12 months is selected during the ordering process) Server cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the next renewal date of invoicing.

Will I have full root access to my dedicated server/ VPS Server?

Full Root access is granted for all dedicated server accessible via SSH client on default Port unless requested for change in SSH access settings for security tightening. The root password must be kept on file with support especially for all managed Dedicated servers at all times to ensure there are no delays if any issues arise on the server that require attention and so that routine maintenance, such as kernel updates, or OS patching can be performed.

In the case of hardware failure, replacement included for dedicated servers?

While we extensively test our hardware and only use the highest quality equipment, all hardware at some point in time will eventually fail and Hardware that is faulty or fails through over period of time will be certainly replaced at absolutely no charge within few hours to same day of intimation by opening Support ticket. Due to the inherent risk to your data from hardware, OS, application and/or other user errors, We strongly recommends backing up your data regularly, If you wanted to order Cloud backup you may contact sales@systron.net .

How many IP addresses come with my dedicated server?

One dedicated IP addresses is provided with each dedicated server. Additional 3 IP addresses can be provided upon request. [Note: Justification for these IP addresses must be in compliance with ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) guidelines]. Disadvantages of Shared Hosting

Shared hosting has significant disadvantages, a few of which are listed below :

Stability Issues – Since many accounts are sharing the operating system, web server, mail server and other key resources, a bug or technical problem with one site can cause a system wide crash, which brings down every site on the server.

Performance Issues – There is no way to effectively control resource usage in the Shared environment. One account can consume a large portion of CPU, memory or disk space resulting in fewer resources being available for other accounts.

Security Issues – Data and configuration settings are co-mingled in the Shared environment and are protected only by file level passwords. The security of your data can be easily compromised.
